Computer Essential (+ESL)
Objective
The Computer Essentials course quickly teaches you the hardware and software skills necessary to competently perform industrial PC troubleshooting and repair. At the end of CompTIA A+ technician certification course, a student will be able to identify computer components (CPU, RAM, Hard disk etc.) and their characteristics, troubleshoot and repair computer hardware problems. They will also be able to build a PC using hardware components, and learn skills to install and configure Microsoft Windows 2000 and XP. Students gain practical hands-on experience in fully equipped labs as well as the theoretical knowledge to prepare to pass the A+ Certification exams.
A+ Certification is a valuable, industry-standard certification offered by CompTIA (the Computer Technology Industry Association). Monster.com reports that, "Among the certifications available for computer professionals, A+ is probably the one cited most often as a starting point for careers in the industry."
